Job Description
The Civil Excise Officer (Trainee) position is a government role under the Kerala Excise Department. The selected candidate will undergo prescribed training and assist in enforcing laws relating to excise, narcotic substances, and other activities under the department’s jurisdiction. The role involves field duties, inspections, enforcement activities, and maintaining public safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior Excise officers in enforcement and field operations.
- Conduct inspections and patrol assigned areas.
- Assist in detecting and preventing illegal activities related to excise laws.
- Support operations against the illegal possession, sale, and transportation of prohibited substances.
- Assist in collecting information and conducting preliminary enquiries.
- Participate in raids and enforcement operations as directed by senior officers.
- Assist in checking vehicles, premises, and other locations during authorized inspections.
- Prepare and maintain reports and departmental records.
- Assist with seizure and documentation procedures as per departmental rules.
- Support public-awareness programs related to substance abuse and excise laws.
- Maintain discipline and follow departmental procedures and instructions.
- Participate in mandatory training and physical fitness programs.
